The trouble with staying too well informed with world affairs is that it often becomes a distraction to quieter, more meaningful voices, such as the voice of God. I have recently suffered a sort of hearing loss and have become completely uninspired. With so much focus on the suffering of others, I have allowed myself to slip into a dark place where nothing seems interesting, and nothing seems right.
Thankfully, God is patient and continues to speak, and in His light the distractions of the day are beginning to fade, allowing me to hear, to see, and to receive these gifts - inspiration, creativity, and joy.
There is always light at the end of a tunnel.
